KPMG’s GISG Managed Security Services (MSS) helps defend KPMG Member Firms from cyber-attack, through timely detection, investigation, and remediation of potential threats.


The purpose of the Information Security Engineer (Data Analytics) role is to champion Data Analytics in the delivery of technical projects, systems, and services for MSS to transform the data we ingest into useable knowledge that can be acted upon. The Information Security Engineer (Data Analytics) will be responsible for data quality, integration, processing, analysis, modelling and visualization across SIEM and other monitoring platforms including Microsoft Azure Sentinel and Microsoft 365 Defender security suite. The Information Security Engineer will be part of a team working in a fast-paced environment driving performance, reliability and supporting the platforms delivering MSS services.


The successful candidate for this role will have strong data analysis skills, experience with integrating data from multiple technology sources, solid communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale which are unique to a SOC.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge and experience with a SIEM technology
  • Solid knowledge and experience with Query Languages preferably KQL
  • Solid knowledge and experience with R or Python and other scripting languages including PowerShell
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology or a numerate subject) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Experience working with vendors and various solution providers
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes and procedures
  • Experience with Data Analytics/ Data science in a SOC environment
  • Solid knowledge and experience with industry recognized SIEM solutions preferably with Azure Sentinel
  • Knowledge of MS Azure & O365 Solutions preferable
